Description Entre le 1er mai et le 26 juin 1897, le journal The Broad Ax a reproduit dans ses pages un article publié en avril 1897 dans The Arena (Boston) par le pasteur presbytérien afro-américain Daniel Wallace Culp, intitulé « The past and the future of the American Negro ». Entre le 3 juillet 1897 et le 20 août 1898, Broax ax publie trente-sept chapitres qui commentent et critiques les arguments de Culp. Cet article correspond au seizième chapitre et évoque la malédiction de Miriam.
